INTERSPORT LAUNCHES WOMEN’S ALL-STAR IDEAS SUMMIT BEGINNING IN 2025
Thought leadership event explores intersection of sports and lifestyle along with influence on our culture, communities and global competitiveness as part of the 2025 Women’s College All-Star Game Festival
CHICAGO, Ill. (April 2, 2024) — Intersport has announced the launch of the Women’s All-Star Ideas Summit, an annual event beginning in 2025 that explores the confluence of sports, fashion and music and how they influence our culture, communities and global competitiveness.
The Women’s All-Star Ideas Summit will unite and amplify the voices of a powerful collection of business leaders, athletes and influencers from brands, leagues, media platforms and more for in-depth discussions and empowering programming.
A team of women at Intersport will lead the event’s vision and programming, drawing upon their expertise to deliver an unmatched experience.
The Women’s All-Star Ideas Summit will join Intersport’s annual Women’s College All-Star Game as part of the must-attend Women’s College All-Star Game Festival held in the host city of the women’s college basketball national championships each year, beginning in 2025 in Tampa, Fla.
“As the best gather each year at the women’s national basketball championship, Intersport is creating an off-the-court opportunity to showcase the leading women who are exploring ideas that will shape the future,” said Julianne Olivo, Intersport communications director. “The Women’s All-Star Ideas Summit builds upon our proud history as an innovative leader in women’s sports and will bring together the best and brightest.”
This announcement comes as Intersport prepares to unveil rosters for the 2024 Women’s College All-Star Game, which will be broadcast on ESPN2 this Saturday, April 6, at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Women’s College All-Star Game is an annual showcase spotlighting the country’s elite players who will be exhausting or foregoing their remaining eligibility and are on the precipice of hearing their names called in the WNBA Draft. It provides these standouts a national platform to represent their programs and be recognized one last time against the backdrop of the sport’s championship weekend.
The John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation, which is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), is the beneficiary partner of the Women’s College All-Star Game and Ideas Summit. The foundation offers scholarships for minority students who intend to pursue a postgraduate degree in athletics administration and is home of the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative, a new coach-driven program to create access to and opportunity for meaningful employment experience for minority candidates known as Future Leaders.
Details will be announced at a later date on womenscollegeallstar.com. Sponsors interested in participating in the Women’s College All-Star Festival should contact Intersport at communications@intersport.global.
