
Lieberman, Miller Return to the Sidelines for the 2025 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game
TAMPA (March 27, 2025) – Legendary basketball figures Nancy Lieberman and Cheryl Miller return in their roles as head coaches for Team Lieberman and Team Miller, respectively, for the 2025 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game on April 5. The two Hall of Famers will be joined by three other legends synonymous with the game of basketball – Ann Meyers Drysdale, Cynthia Cooper and Lindsay Whalen.
The group will provide their expert guidance to a group of 20 elite seniors on the cusp of their professional careers as part of All-Star Game weekend, which will culminate with the 2025 edition at 3 p.m. ET on April 5 in Tampa. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
Lieberman was a three-time All-American and two-time National Player of the Year at Old Dominion and became the youngest basketball player in Olympic history when at 18 she heled Team USA to a silver medal at the 1976 Olympics. Miller was a four-time All-American, three-time Player of the Year and two-time NCAA Champion while at USC and owns five international gold medals with USA Basketball. Both are members of the Naismith Basketball and Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, among others.
Meyers Drysdale and Cooper will officially serve as assistants for Team Miller. Meyers Drysdale is one of the most decorated basketball players in history. She was a four-time All-American while at UCLA, played alongside Lieberman at the 1976 Olympics and belongs a numerous Halls of Fame, including the Naismith and Women’s Basketball, among others. Cooper enjoyed one of the most successful WNBA careers in history, winning four championships, two MVP honors and three league scoring titles. She was a four-year letterwinner at USC, winning two national championships alongside Miller.
Whalen will serve as an assistant on the Team Lieberman coaching staff. She was a two-time All-American and National Player of the Year finalist at Minnesota. She won two gold medals with Team USA at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, was a four-time WNBA Champion and three-time first-team All-WNBA selection. Whalen is now an assistant coach with the Minnesota Lynx.
Intersport, owner and operator of the Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game, also announced today that it is extending its longstanding partnership with the McLendon Foundation, which will serve as a strategic partner for the Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game.
The McLendon Foundation was established in 1999 by National Association of Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA) to honor the legacy of Hall of Fame coach John McLendon. The McLendon Foundation’s mission is to create access and opportunities for historically excluded talent who aspire to impact the sports industry. McLendon, who spent nearly 30 years in coaching, concluded his college coaching career at Cleveland State, the site of the 2024 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game.
In addition to the event’s title partner, Eli Lilly and Company, national brands have committed to the Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game, enhancing the player and fan experience. Herbalife, State Farm, Skechers, Under Armour and E*TRADE will be featured throughout the event.
